Soft Skills

Generally Soft Skills refer to personality traits, communication ability, personal habits, friendliness and even optimism that people possess to varying degrees. Importantly these skills complement the technical skills requirements of a job e.g. accounting, engineering, administration. These soft skills can be referred to as non-technical skills, 'general skills, generic skills and employability skills.

Our actions and experiences in both our personal and professional lives help build our soft skill capability, however it is easy to take our soft skills for granted.  Like our technical skills, these also need development and nurturing.

Employers highly value these skills as they enhance an individual's interactions, job performance and future career prospects.
